Subject: Looking for recipe
This is an Italian recipe, I don't know the name of it:
A bowl is lined with overlapping thin slices of zucchini, has layered filling
of italian slices of bread, sausage, other vegies & cheese, ending in layer of
bread, baked, than inverted onto plate, so all you see is zucchini.
Thank You, Sheila
Hello Sheila,
Sorry, there is nothing like this in any of our Italian food encyclopedias or cookbooks.
Perhaps it is a restaurant creation rather than a traditional Italian dish.

Subject: Lost victorian recipe
I am searching for a recipe that was printed in a magazine maybe 10 to 12
years ago. May have been Victoria Magazine or Country Living.
It was called Save Our Trees Lemon Thyme Cookies.
It was a rolled sugar cookie recipe.
It contained:
Butter and or cream cheese
Granulated sugar
Eggs
Flour
Lemon Thyme
Hi Dawn,
Sorry, I cannot find a lemon thyme cookies recipe that mentions "save our
trees" or "Victoria Magazine" or "Country Living Magazine". While I did
find a few recipes for lemon thyme cookies, none of them contained cream
cheese. I found a mention of "save-our-trees-lemon-BALM-cookies", but not
a recipe, and no recipe for "lemon balm cookies" containing cream cheese
and from a magazine.

Subject: Request your assistance
Hey, and thanks in advance.
I am not looking for a recipe, but rather for a source.
Back in the sixties, when I was in the Navy, the galley used to serve
something called Shrimp Sticks. These were just like the frozen fish
sticks that mom got at the grocery store, only they were stamped out to
look like a shrimp, and were made of shredded/chopped/ground shrimp rather
than fish.
I have searched the Internet in vain for years, attempting to track down a
source for these guys. As much as I dislike fish sticks, I love the shrimp sticks!
Thank you, success or no ....
Lee
Hello Lee,
I seem to recall Mrs Paul's or Gorton's or maybe Van de Kap's marketing
breaded shrimp sticks years ago, but no one in the U.S. appears to be
making them these days. The only sources that I can find are in China and
Indonesia. See:

Subject: Recipe Request
I'm looking for a recipe that copies or imitates Harry and David's galettes.
These cookies are so tender and buttery, there's nothing like them. I can't
seem to find any recipes for galettes even, much les a copy cat. Can you help?
Thank you,
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,
No copycats for Harry & David's, but see these sites:
fruit galettes
raspberry galettes

Subject: Chicken Istimewa recipe
Hi,
I hope you can help me find this recipe? It's called Chicken Istimewa. I used to get
this dish at a restaurant in Tribeca, NYC called Franklin Station Cafe. Because of the
economy they had to close their doors. :(
Thank you
Maryellen
Hi Maryellen,
Sorry, I can't find any mention of this anywhere except in reviews of Franklin Station Cafe.
I don't know if it's the same thing, but there is a masakan istimewa recipe here: Malaysian Chicken Curry
