Subject: Rich's Department Store -coffee shop- Pecan Cream Torte
I called Atlanta home from 1957-1960 and regularly hitch hiked from Norfolk, VA
to Atlanta and back on a weekend, wearing my US Navy uniform to make better time,
and looked forward to stopping by the coffee shop for a slice of Pecan Cream Torte,
still my favourite confection of all time. Any chance of getting the recipe? TIA.

Hello Paul,
No problem. The page containing that recipe to which I had linked previously has vanished from the Internet.
However, for those in the know, it is possible to travel back in time to the Internet of the past.
Doing so, I found the recipe in 2005. See below.
Phaed
Rich's Pecan Cream Torte
Hands on time: 20 minutes Total time: 45 minutes Serves: 16
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup cake crumbs
1/2 cup shortening
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
5 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans
Whipped cream for garnish
Finely chopped pecans for garnish, optional
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9-inch layer cake pans; line the bottoms
with greased wax paper. Cream sugar, crumbs, shortening, flour and baking powder
until smooth. Add egg yolks and pecans. Mix until smooth. Whip the whites until
they hold a soft peak and fold into batter. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until cakes test done.
Do not overbake. Cool layers and ice with whipped cream, garnish with finely
chopped pecans around edge.

I need the recipe for Jewel osco Cheddar mac salad.
Thank you Clayton
Hello Clayton,
I found two "macaroni & cheddar salads" mentioned in Jewel-Osco ads:
"Essential Everyday Macaroni & Cheddar Salad" and "Sour Cream Cheddar & Macaroni Salad"
I could not find a recipe for either one, or a recipe that was claimed to
taste like either one. I did find that someone had requested the same
recipe on a message board, and they were given the below recipe in reply.
It might be worth a try.
Phaed
Cheddar and Macaroni Salad
Servings:6
Ingredients:
1 cup macaroni
3/4 cup cubed Cheddar cheese
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup frozen green peas, thawed
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
Directions:
Cook pasta in boiling salted water until done. Drain. Rinse macaroni under
cold water, and drain again.
Combine pasta with cheese, vegetables, mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, and
pickle relish. Chill for at least 24 hours.

Good morning my name is Mandy. I would like the McKenzie's Cinnamon rolls recipe please.
Hi Mandy,
Sorry, I had no success locating McKenzie’s Bakery cinnamon rolls recipe. I’ll post this on the site for reader input.
Tastee Donuts in the New Orleans area has McKenzie’s cinnamon rolls recipe and sells them in their shops.
