Dear Phaedrus,
There is a restaurant called The Pig n Whistle in Rotunda FL
that has fried calves liver over mashed potatoes and grilled
onions with an onion sauce. Please I would like the recipe.
Thank You
Peter

Hello Chris,
Sorry, this recipe does not appear to be available.
The Cincinnati Enquirer has searchable archives here:
Cincinnati Enquirer Archives
The archives go back through 1999 and are searchable free, although there is a fee to get an actual article.
Searching gave no results at all for “Mediterranean Rotisserie Chicken.”

Subject: Cream Cheese Onion Dip made by Kraft
Many years ago, Kraft had a cream cheese version of their onion dip.
I first found it in the late 70s and I think they discontinued it sometime
in the 80s. I absolutely loved this stuff, especially with corn chips.
Once it was no longer available I have tried off and on through the
years to recreate it and haven’t even come close. I’ve tried different
versions of cream cheese onion dip recipes you can now find on the
web, but there is still something missing. I would be forever grateful
if you can point me to a recipe for cream cheese onion dip that is as
close to what Kraft sold as possible. Thanks.
P.S. Thanks so much for this website. Because of the work you put
into it I’ve been able to recreate some old childhood memories.
I greatly appreciate it.
Vanessa
Hi Vanessa,
I had no success at all finding a cream cheese onion dip recipe that claimed to taste like Kraft’s or that anyone
even said tastes like Kraft’s. There are recipes on the web for cream cheese onion dip. See below and these sites:
Foodily Dip 1
Foodily Dip 2
I’ve no idea whether any of these tastes like Kraft’s. You’d have to make them and see.
The last time I bought any dip was years ago, and it was French’s Onion Dip. I don’t know that I’ve ever even tasted
Kraft Cream Cheese Onion dip. If I did, it was at a party and I didn’t know what it was. Unless I find a recipe that
specifically says that it tastes like Kraft’s or unless someone who has tasted both says that it tastes like Kraft’s,
then I have no idea which to recommend.

Subject: self frosting cupcake
I had seen a recipe years ago in a book "for young ladies" - yeah,
that long ago - anyway it was labeled as a self frosting cupcake.
once mixed & baked the top of the cupcake came out with a
sticky, glaze of sorts. I made the recipe once & as I remember it
was quite good but I have not had the recipe for many years.
Are you familiar with it?
Angie
Hi Angie,
Well that’s not much information. I can’t find any “'self-frosting' cupcakes” recipes that say they come from a book “for young ladies.” There are some “self-frosting cupcakes” recipes on the web. Most don’t sound like your description. There’s a chocolate one here:
