Hudson's Triple Layer Pumpkin Pie

Subject: Triple layer pumpkin pie

I am looking for the recipe for a triple layer pumpkin pie, in a cookbook
that I brought from Hudson department store. Regular crust, regular pie
filling, but the top was the secret. I remember the top had gelatin in it,
and I think it had to be baked a little way after it was put in.

Can you help?

Hi Dawn,

Sorry, I could not find any mention of this particular pie, although there are other triple-layer pumpkin pie recipes on the web.

I'll post this for reader input.

Pepperidge Farms Pineapple Coconut Layer Cake

Dear Phaedrus,

My name is Robyn and I am hoping that you can locate a recipe for Pepperidge Farms Pineapple coconut
layer cake. Many years ago Pepperidge Farms made this layer cake which was sold in the freezer section
of grocery stores. It had a pineapple frosting between the layers and toasted coconut on top of the cake.
The company is still in business, however they no longer make this cake. Any chance that you can get
the recipe or have a copy cat recipe for this delicious cake? Thank you!

Hi Robyn,

Sorry, I had no success with this. I can’t find any mention of this product at all. The only Pepperidge Farm coconut cake that I can find any mention of is their “Classic Coconut Cake”, which they still sell.

I’ll post this for reader input.

School Cafeteria Taco Pizza

We had something for lunch at our school called taco pizza. Can you find a recipe for that?

Hi Mary,

It always helps to know the name of the school and location, but I think that what you probably had is a frozen pizza product made by "Tony's" called "Fiestada". Some schools call it "taco pizza" or "Mexican pizza." It's not made at the school, it's bought frozen from a food service supplier.

The Food Service Distributor Division of Schwan's sells it, but only by the case. See: Fiestado taco pizza
