Subject: recipe request
I'm also looking for the recipe for Yoshida's Hawaiian Sweet and Sour sauce.
Would you know where to find it? We can't buy the product but at Sam's and it's
just too far away!
Thanks,
Stephanie
Hi Stephanie,
Sorry, I had no success in finding a copycat recipe for this commercial product.
Here's the deal: Heinz USA is the distributor for Mr. Yoshida products. So far,
the products are sold retail only in the Western US. They are sold nationally
only by BJ's, Costco, and Sam's Club stores. If you live in the Western US,
check your local supermarkets. If they don't have it, ask them to try and get
it from their Heinz distributor.
If you don't live in the Western US, then BJ's, Costco, and Sam's Club are your
only store options. However, you can buy it on the Internet from the Sam's Club
website and have it shipped to your door. See:
Sam's Club
You can also buy it online from these sites:

Hi Lynn,
Sorry, no luck. Zeb's doesn't share the sauce recipe with anyone at all, and
no one appears to have been able to create a clone.

Subject: Grecian Spaghetti
I lived in Nashville, Tennessee many years ago and took my family to a little
family restaurant in Donelson, a suburb near by. It was named The Grecian Inn,
but was not a part of the small chain by the same name. They were famous in
the area for their spaghetti which was very spicy. It was wonderful comfort
food. Sadly they are no longer open but I am hoping that maybe before closing
they might have made the recipe available and there is still a copy out there
somewhere. I have had no luck in locating it but maybe you or your sources might
be able to help. Thanks for the consideration.
Mike
Hi Mike,
Sorry, the only mentions that I can find of The Grecian Inn in Donelson, TN are
about the fact that Ellendale's now occupies the building where it was located.
No mention of the spaghetti at all.
I found a few Greek spaghetti recipes, but none of them are particularly spicy,
and without knowing the unique ingredients used in The Grecian Inn dish, there's
no way to determine if a given recipe is similar. Was it garlicky? Did it have
chicken in it? Olives? Feta cheese? By "spicy", do you mean peppery or containing
a variety of spices? If a variety, what spice flavors do you recall?
I'll put this on my site. Someone might know something about it.

Just read the e-mail from Mike and I too would so like to have this recipe.
I know the owner of Ellendale's and unfortunately she had no connection to
the family who were previous owners. How I wish someone would see these
requests and come to our rescue.
Thank You
Rose

I ate lunch at the Grecian Inn for many years. I never thought the spaghetti was that great.
It was very spicy because Tony used gobs of black pepper in it. Still it was a popular item
on the menu.

Subject: Dairy Queen Hot Dog Chili (not sauce)
I have not found this recipe on-line and would really like to have it.
The chili is not saucy, but rather dry - with the ground beef very finely chopped.
Hello Elizabeth,
Sorry, I had no success with this. From the information on these sites, different
DQ locations use different chili:
