Uncle Phaedrus, do you happen to know the recipe for the Caesar Dressing
that the Golden Corral Restaurants make?
Thanks!
maryann
Hi Maryann,
Sorry, I had no success locating this.

Subject: Looking for State Line Potato Chips--a comfort food from my past.
Hi Uncle Phaed,
I've enjoyed your site for more years than I care to think about.
Thanks for all of the great info through the last decade.
When I was growing up in central Massachusetts back when the three
Kennedy brothers were still alive, we were able to buy a local brand
of potato chips. State Line Potato Chips were produced in a facility
on Route 20 in Wilbraham, Mass. Once in a great while, I have been able
to buy them at a chain of New England discount stores, Ocean State Job Lot,
but their inventory is subject to the vicissitudes of the closeout market.
Consequently, I haven't been able to locate a reliable source for
State Line chips. Efforts to find local outlets on the internet
have left me stymied, so I guess that makes me your latest supplicant.
Any idea where I might be able to get a steady supply of State Line Potato
Chips within a 25-mile radius of Worcester, Massachusetts? I promise to
dedicate my first "crunch" to you, Phaed.
Thanks!
Ron
Hello Ron,
Best I can tell, State Line went out of business in the U.S. and sold the
"State Line" name and recipe to a Canadian Company.
I could not find the name of the Canadian Company who makes them now. I found
that a few people said that the Canadian version is available in a few places in
the U.S., mostly in Massachusetts. No luck in Worcester, however.
The only place that I found actually named was:
"Fresh Acres" - 1941 Wilbraham Road Springfield, MA 01129.

Hello-
I work for a NY based company and was doing some research on State Line Chips
when I stumbled across the hungrybrowser website, which is very helpful. Although
the post is almost a year old, I just thought that I would let you know that
State Line is now a branch of Yum-Yum Chips who are centered in Montreal, Canada.
They took over a couple of years ago to extend their distribution into the US without
having to pay those nasty import/export fees that tend to increase every year.
Just an FYI in case you get more people asking about them. Keep up the great website!
Regards,
Josh

Dear Phaedrus,
It's a German molasses cookie my friend remembers her grandmother baking.
The key remembered fact is that she rolled the dough into balls then rolled
them in egg whites before just placing them on the cookie sheets.

Hi Judy,

Subject: cinnamon rolls
Phaedrus,
At my elementary school, Adams Elementary in Ballard, Washington,
we had the best cinnamon rolls served to us at lunch with chili.
Yes - can you imagine the two served together?
I would love the recipe for the cinnamon rolls.
Thanks so much!
Susan
