Rike's and Shillito's were absorbed by Lazarus. Foley's, Filene's, Lazarus, Rich's, and Goldsmith's all became divisions of Federated Department Stores, which became part of Macy's in 2003. In 2005 the names of most of the stores were changed to Macy's. Lazarus Department Stores operated in the Midwest, primarily in Ohio.
