Was fluffy and amazing. Any chance you have seen that recipe floating around out
know who the pie maker was back then

Hello David,

Sorry, I have not had any success locating the Blue Boar peanut butter pie recipe or any information about who made their pies.

I'll post this for reader input.

Hello Phaedrus and everyone,

While this is not an exact match for David’s request, I’m hopeful it will surprise
the PB pie seekers like it did me! Flavor is off the charts!

Cuppies P-nutter Pie

Peanut butter pie recipes are a dime a dozen. But a many years ago a good friend
of mine named Cuppie, worked as the head baker at a local commissary where he was
famously known for his PB Pie. I tried forever to get him to write it down for me,
with no luck. He only made it himself and by memory. After his passing, I met one
of his apprentices’ years later who claimed he knew Cuppies secret ingredient.
He swore it was a secret crust which used 2 dozen crushed Nutter Butter cookies
and 5 Tbsp. of butter mixed together and pressed into a pie plate. The pies main
ingredients were traditional with some unique and tasty variations he had perfected
over time. Well, as far as my taste buds are concerned, this is the real deal !
I’ve made dozens of Cuppies P-nutter Pies since then and they never fail to cause
a stir! Needless to say the silky flavor is epic! You can decide for yourself which
embellishments below to add in to Cuppies original recipe.

Ingredients

3/4 cup peanut butter
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 pre-made 9” graham cracker crust – OR - Cuppies Nutter Butter crust = 2 dozen
crushed Nutter Butter cookies mixed with 5 Tbsp. of butter pressed into the pie plate.
Salted chopped peanuts (see topping options)

Directions

In a large bowl, beat the peanut butter, cream cheese and confectioners' sugar
until smooth. Fold in whipped topping; pour into prepared crust. Refrigerate at
least 2 hours before serving. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.

Chill to set firm. Pie can be served immediately, but it will be easier to cut
clean pieces after refrigerating for at least an hour. It freezes well also and
will easily thaw and refreeze.

This pie is quite easy to customize and make your own.

You can vary its flavor profile by adding your own choice of chopped or shaved
chocolate, candy or cashews.

Tried and Trusted Variations:

Add in 1 teaspoon of pure Vanilla Extract. (popular)

Try stirring in only half the whipped topping and save the rest to spread on
the top of the pie. Or sub your own home made whipped cream instead of cool whip.

Sprinkle mini chocolate chips or diced Crunchy Peanut Butter Cups on top.

Melt 4.4 oz. Hershey's candy bar in your microwave till softened. Then whip a
12 oz. Cool Whip into the melted chocolate before it firms up. Use a mixer to
beat it quickly. Layer the chocolate mixture on top of peanut butter mixture.

Try using a chocolate (Oreo) graham cracker crust.

Use chocolate sauce or peanut butter sauce as a finishing drizzle on top.

Substitute honey-roasted peanuts as a topping.

Use 12 oz. of whipped topping (instead of 8 oz.) in mixture for a taller, fancier pie.

Make your own chocolate whipped cream to top it.

Try a dusting of coffee or espresso powder to the crust to increase richness.
