From PhaedSeveral years ago, we bought several boxes of miscellaneous recipes from estate sales on E-Bay. We quickly tired of going through them, and they went into storage. Some of them contained some recipe pamphlets from various products and from restaurants, and a couple of days ago, I found a recipe booklet from Stephenson's Old Apple Farm among them. It's dated 1977. No, it doesn't have the brisket rub recipe, but it does have a few recipes that might be interesting to someone.
The below recipe is for their "Smokehouse Barbecue Sauce." It doesn't appear to be on the web.
Stephenson's Old Apple Farm Smokehouse Barbecue Sauce (Makes about 3 1/2 cups) 2 14-oz bottles Catsup 3 Tablespoons Horseradish 3 Tablespoons Salad Mustard 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice 1 teaspoon Celery Seed 1/4 teaspoon Onion Salt 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper 1/4 teaspoon Liquid Smoke 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Juice Blend all ingredients thoroughly. Refrigerate in covered glass jar.
