Sorry to disappoint, but I do not have and could not find Cissy Gregg's butter cookies recipe in any of my sources.
As you say, her cookbooks are rather expensive on the used bookseller sites. However, I found some cheaper offers of them on E-Bay. The problem lies in knowing which of her cookbooks contains the butter cookies recipe. It might be in all of them or it might be in none. No fun to buy one of them and then find that the recipe you want isn't in that one. It may have been only published in her Louisville Courier-Journal column.
I will post this. One of my readers might have this recipe in a clipping or may have one or more of her cookbooks and will send me that recipe for you. I must warn you, though... It's December, and I have a backlog of items to post, so it might be next month before it appears.
