I did a rather exhaustive search of my resources, but all I found that mentioned the hot box sauce were a few newspaper items, such as this one: The Red Bank, NJ Daily Register, 1968
There is a menu here, but it doesn't mention the fried shrimp or the hot box sauce.: Bronx Banter Blog
There are a few books about Toots Shor and his restaurant, but none of them appear to contain recipes. They are mostly about celebrities who frequented the restaurant and how it was a popular drinking establishment.
I'll post this for reader input.
