The bread contained oatmeal (not oat flour) and honey.  The rest of the ingredients were 
the usual things one would expect in a bread recipe, flour, yeast, water, salt.  It was 
truly delicious, not sweet.  I have made other oatmeal breads, none ever matching the 
taste of the Apartment Living recipe.

Thank you for the kind words about my site.

I had no success locating your recipe request. I don't know why, but "Apartment Living Magazine" recipes are extremely scarce on the Web.

There are plenty of other oatmeal bread recipes with honey on the web that you can find if you copy and paste this as a Google search term:

"oatmeal bread" oatmeal honey flour salt yeast water

Just like that, with quotes around "oatmeal bread". I looked at many of the recipes that Google found. Most have the ingredients that you list, but none mentions "Apartment Living."

I will, of course, post this for input from my readers. Perhaps one of them has the Apartment Living recipe. If someone sends it to me, I will send it on to you and will also post it.

Dear Uncle Phaedrus, 

I've been remiss in getting this recipe to you. It is very similar to the Apartment 
Living oatmeal bread, enough to fool both my and my husband's old memories 
and old taste buds.  The changes I have made are to use 1/3 cup honey. omit 
the gluten and omit the egg wash.  I also just knead by hand.  There's a batch rising in the kitchen right now.
