On our way to Cape Cod a tradition was to stop at
Ben and Mildred’s Chicken House. It changed names

I’ve tried to find their recipe for Strawberry Chiffon Pie.
It was about 4-5 inches high and very airy and Very delicious.

Hope you can find it. Or maybe something similar

THANK YOU,

Hello Steve,

Regrettably, I could not find any recipes at all from "Ben and Mildred's Chicken House" in Middleborough, MA.

I did find several mentions of it, both when it was the original "Ben and Mildred's" and later when it became just "Ben Howe's Chicken House". The best mention was here: South Coast Today

There's even a chiffon pie recipe on that page that the author says "tastes like the one she used to eat at "Ben and Mildred's." The rub is that it's a lemon chiffon pie recipe, not strawberry. There are a lot of strawberry chiffon pie recipes on the web, but I was not able to find any strawberry chiffon pie recipe that anyone mentioned in the same breath with "Ben and Mildred's" or "Ben Howe's" or Middleborough, MA. Due to that and the fact that I have no idea what the pie from Ben & Mildred's was like, I cannot recommend another recipe that might be similar.

So, all I can do is point you to a strawberry chiffon pie recipe that might be good. There's one here, and it has nice photos of the pie:  Strawberry Chiffon Pie

I will post this. There may be someone out there who has Ben & Mildred's recipe or someone who actually ate the pie served  there and can recommend a recipe that tastes-like it.

Hello
Thank you for your response. I will definitely try out one of
those recipes. It was great to see Ben & Mildred’s aka Ben
Howes Chicken house. It’s a great place. You could order
2nds on the chicken if you wanted and the meal came with
delicious chicken soup and wonderful buttered and toasted
buns. Great memories- thank you so much!
