Hello Tony,

There is not much information on the web about Hanover Trail Steakhouse. The bits that I did find indicate that it was a steakhouse chain that was owned by the Campbell Soup Company. It began with one restaurant in Whippany, N.J. in 1973 and expanded to other towns in New Jersey and into Pennsylvania in the seventies. Apparently, according to one source, the restaurant was modeled on "Hilltop House", the 1,100-seat restaurant in Saugus, Mass. I could not find any indication that any Hanover Trail locations are still in operation or even that they lasted beyond the seventies.

As for their salad dressing, I could not find a recipe for it or anything about it except for one brief mention of their Italian dressing.

I will post this for reader input.
