The restaurant closed in the 1990's. The one item everyone loved was their cheese biscuits. These were a biscuit with a piece of cheese melted in the middle. I think they were possibly an angel biscuit? Based on my memory, they had a bit of yeast in them. My husband did not recall the yeast taste, so perhaps I am wrong. The plain biscuits were served with your meal and the cheese biscuits were an extra order. They were served with honey on the table. I'm wondering if anyone has the recipe? Thank you, Janice
Hi Janice,
I searched the Internet and all of my other resources, but I had no success. All that I could find was the blue cheese dressing. I saw a couple of requests for this recipe on message boards, also with no success.
I will post this for reader input.
Surely someone out there has this recipe. C'mon...

Re: Cheese Biscuit recipe from the Green Lantern
Hi Again Janice,
One of my helpful readers, Will, was able to access a graphic of the recipe that was in the Montgomery Advertiser of Nov 6, 1980. He sent it to me and I have transcribed the recipe below.

Green Lantern Cheese Biscuits
2 cups self rising flour

1/4 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoons sugar
Mix all ingredients together. Knead several times. Roll out on floured
board to one-quarter inch thick. Cut. Bake 450-500 degrees until brown,
10-12 minutes. For cheese biscuits, slice and insert medium sharp cheese
when biscuits are nearly done.
Yield: 20 biscuits.

Wow, thank you so much. We are having chili tonight, so I’ll be trying the recipe.
