Baked Creamed Cabbage 1 medium head of cabbage 1/2 tsp. salt 3 tsp. butter 1 1/2 c. milk 3 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. butter 1/2 c. bread crumbs Finely shred cabbage and cook for seven minutes in a large pan of boiling salted water (to each gallon water add 1 tablespoon salt). Drain and place in a 1 1/2-quart buttered casserole. To make a white sauce, combine butter, flour, 1/2 tsp. salt and milk. Pour sauce over cabbage. Melt 1 tsp. butter and toss with bread crumbs to coat. Sprinkle buttered crumbs over cabbage. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings. Servings: 6 ---------------------------------------------------------- Creamed Baked Cabbage 1 med. head cabbage 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. flour Pepper 1 c. cream Bacon slices Shred cabbage. Place in baking dish. Mix sugar, salt, flour and pepper. Blend with cream. Pour over cabbage and top with bacon slices. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. ---------------------------------------------------------- Baked Creamed Cabbage 3 tbsp. butter 1 med. head cabbage 1/2 c. boiling salted water 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. milk 1/4 c. bread crumbs or crackers Shred cabbage very fine and cook 9 minutes in water. Drain and place in buttered 1 1/2 quart dish. Melt butter in saucepan and stir in flour and salt until smooth. Add milk gradually and continue stirring until thickened. Pour over cabbage and sprinkle with crumbs. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes or more.
