I am sorry to say that I have combed the Web and my other resources with no success finding any recipes at all from Lord & Taylor or The Bird Cage

I did find a couple of menus from The Bird Cage, but they shed no light on the dessert that you describe. They just said desserts: "From the Wagon."
I will post this. Maybe one of my readers can assist. It would be of help to know what the restaurant itself called the dessert.
