Hello I M,
Sorry, I had no success finding this recipe on the Web or in any of my other resources.
The Facebook message thread that you mention is here: LA Times Food
I read every message in the thread and although there are several posts from people claiming to be Rudy's relatives and from people saying they worked at Rudy's, none of them apparently delivered a recipe to the folks begging for one.
There were some suggestions there for a "tastes-like", but no one came back and said anything positive about them.
Someone posted that the spaghetti sauce at Vince's Spaghetti in Rancho Cucamonga or Ontario, CA or Temecula, CA tasted like Rudy's, but no one corroborated that. There is a recipe for "Vince's Meat Sauce" in Ontario here: Big Oven
Another poster said the sauce at Chris n' Pitts in Downey, CA was close to Rudy's. However, "Chris & Pitts" is a barbecue restaurant. Their current menu doesn't even list spaghetti, although from "Yelp!", they might have had it on the menu in the past. "Yelp!" has a photo of a plate of spaghetti that's said to be from "Chris & Pitts," but I found no further mention.
Yet another poster said that a bottled spaghetti sauce called "Valentino's" or "Rudolph Valentino's" is similar to Rudy's. I couldn't find any mention of a bottled sauce called "Rudolph Valentino's." There is a bottled spaghetti sauce called "Valentino's" that is sold at Walmart, but I could not find any corroboration that it tastes like Rudy's.
I'll post this for reader input.
