There are a lot of recipes for brisket on the web that are similar to your description. However all of them have an additional ingredient that you don't mention, such as: chili sauce, tomato sauce, coca-cola, coffee, ginger ale, cranberries, jelly, etc, or else they are missing an ingredient: some have the onion soup but not the onions, some have the onions but not the onions soup, some are missing the Worcestershire, some have tomato paste instead of ketchup.
