Hi Jo,
Baker's has been selling chocolate chips for many years and they have put several recipes for chocolate chip cookies on their package. Below is the only one that I could find that called for "Baker's chocolate chips" by name and also called for 1/2 teaspoon of water. I found it on two different sites, and one of them said it was on the Baker's chocolate chip package many years ago.
Phaed
Chocolate Chip Cookies 1 c. softened shortening 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 3/4 c. granulated sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. water 2 eggs 2 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts 1 (12 oz.) pkg. Baker's chocolate chips Beat shortening, sugars, vanilla, water and eggs until light and fluffy. Mix flour with soda and salt, blend into shortening mixture. Stir in nuts and chips. Drop 2" apart from teaspoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 8 dozen. -------------------------------------------------------- Thank you so much! This is it!!
