Any luck finding this recipe? It was always so good.

Thanks

Hello Connie,

I had no success finding a recipe for this. However, on the "I Remember Bill Knapp's" Facebook Page, I found this:

The soups were good. Most homemade I do recall the Cream of Mushroom and Tomato Soup was actually Heinz soup in giant cans. Cooks were trained to remove the label in the back prep rooms prior to bringing in the kitchen to avoid customers who may view it from the pass windows.

The person making that statement appears to be a former Bill Knapp's employee.

I don't think, however, that Heinz soups are sold in grocery stores in the US these days. They may be sold as a Food Service item only in the US, and they may only be sold in the UK. You can buy them from Amazon.com. If you want to try a can of Heinz Cream of Mushroom Soup to see whether it tastes like the soup that was served at Bill Knapp's, you can order it from Amazon.
