While searching for something else, I found this recipe posted on a message board.
Luby's Barbecue Sauce Yield: 4 Servings 2 1/2 c Ketchup 1 1/4 c Water 1/3 c Onion, chopped 3 tbs Brown sugar, packed 1/2 Lemon's juice 1 tbs Prepared mustard 1 tbs White vinegar 1 1/2 tsp Liquid smoke 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 tsp Hot pepper sauce 1 tsp Garlic powder 1 tsp Chili powder 1/2 Bay leaf Salt (to taste) Pepper (to taste) In a medium saucepan, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. TIP: Use the Barbecue Sauce as a basting sauce and/or topping for meat and poultry including chicken and turkey; beef roast, steaks, and ribs; meat loaves and hamburgers; pork roast, chops, tenderloin, and ribs; and bratwurst and hot dogs.
