Subject: Recipe Request Blaze's Mac and Cheese Appetizer From: Marylin Date: 7/10/2020, 7:31 AM To: phaedrus@hungrybrowser.com On 7/9/2020 11:30 PM, Marylin wrote: Hi Uncle Phaedrus! Several years ago I frequented a restaurant in Arlington, TX called Blaze's Sports Bar. It was located near the University of Texas Arlington Campus on Pecan Street. They served an appetizer that was fried balls of a grown-up version of macaroni and cheese wrapped around lobster meat. It was out of this world! I've found several recipes for a baked macaroni and cheese casserole dish with lobster, but nothing compares to these fried balls of heaven. I've attached a picture of the appetizer that was taken from their Facebook page. Anything you could do to help me find this recipe would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Marylin
Hello Marylin,
Sorry, I had no success finding a recipe for Blaze's lobster mac & cheese appetizer.
"Blaze's Sports Grill" appears to have only been open for a short time, around 2013 - 2014. It was quite popular, but it apparently closed due to tax problems. I'm finding two addresses for the bar: 593 S Pecan St, Arlington, Texas 76010 and 593 S Spaniola St, Arlington, TX 76001, so maybe it reopened at some point.
In an article about the bar's opening, I found that the chef's name was William Keller, but I could not find a current location for him.

The manager was Josh Pool.
There are recipes on the web for fried "lobster mac & cheese balls" and "lobster mac & cheese bites", but there is no way to tell whether they are similar to Blaze's except to try them. In a recipe like this, there is usually a lot of variation in the seasonings and the kind of cheese used. Since I never had Blaze's appetizer, I could not recommend a recipe. If you want to try some of those, there are recipes on these sites:
I will post this for reader input.
