Hi Tisha,
The only mention of a "Sid's Diner" that I can find is at 300 S Choctaw Ave in El Reno, OK, and while they have coney hot dogs on their menu, there is no mention of "slaw dogs" as such. The slaw is just an extra that you can get on their Coney. It appears that there may have been a Sid's Diner in Minco, but it seems to be gone now.
I found a listing of the ingredients in Sid's hot dog slaw, but it's not a recipe. It's more like the listing on a product label: Cabbage, sugar, mustard (distilled vinegar, water, mustard seed, mustard bran, salt, turmeric), water, salt, black pepper.
You can buy Sid's Hot Dog Slaw here:
I think the biggest problem in duplicating Sid's "slawdogs" is that one recipe may not be enough. You need at least two and maybe three recipes: the coney sauce recipe, the hot dog slaw recipe, and maybe a recipe for putting the slaw dog together. The brand of wieners might make a difference as well as any other ingredient Sid's might add, the coney sauce recipe surely can make a difference, and of course, the slaw recipe.
I cannot find a recipe that actually says it is for Sid's hot dog slaw, but the text of the article with this recipe makes me think it might be the one:
Coney Slaw 1 head cabbage Prepared mustard 1 to 2 c. sugar 1 t. vinegar Salt Pepper Grate cabbage. Stir in mustard until mixture is a bright yellow. Add sugar and vinegar and stir mixture well. Add salt and pepper to taste. You may make the mixture sweeter or tangier by adding more sugar or vinegar. Store in glass or plastic container. Never store in a metal bowl.
