Stickney’s Hickory House in Redwood City, Ca. circa 1950-60 had a popular
Roquefort Salad Dressing. You could buy it by the mason jar. It was red in

ribs.
Would love to taste this again.
Thanks,

Hello Marianne,
Sorry, there are still no Stickney's recipes available online or anywhere else, as far as I can find. When I get a request for a recipe from a restaurant like Stickney's, I don't just search for that particular recipe, I search for any recipes at all from that restaurant. Searching today for your Roquefort Dressing makes the 7th time That I have searched for any Stickney's recipes. These are the previous searches:
Chicken Noodle Soup
Chicken Noodle Soup "Tastes Like"
Rib Bbq Sauce
Hot Crab And Cheese Sandwich
Another Chicken Noodle Soup "Tastes Like"
French Dressing
Sadly, I have never had any success finding any recipes from Stickney's. The last Stickney's, the Palo Alto restaurant, closed
in 2000. Adrian "Red" Stickney passed away September 7, 1995. His wife, Kay Stickney, passed away March 31, 2022.
There are a couple of Redwood City nostalgia sites on Facebook:
Old Redwood City, California
You Know You Are from Redwood City
You might try posting your request on those pages. Former employees have posted there, and they'd probably be the most likely people to have the Roquefort dressing recipe. There are similar sites for Palo Alto nostalgia that you might also try. Kay Stickney apparently intended at one time to publish a cookbook of their recipes, but I cannot find any indication that she ever did so.
I will post this for reader input
