Sorry, I had no success finding this recipe in any of my resources, including the web. Perhaps the scones were not made from scratch at the individual Kresge locations. To maintain uniformity, many places with multiple locations have a dry premix made at a central commissary and then have bags of it sent to the individual locations, where it is just mixed with water and baked. If so, only those who worked at the commissary would have known the recipe.
I will post this for reader input.
