I found a lot of posts by people who enjoyed that smothered steak, but I had no success finding the recipe. Sorry. I searched for this before, in 2015, and I had no success then. See: 12-21-2015

There are other "smothered steak" recipes on the web, and similar dishes with slightly different names, but I never had Highland Park Cafeteria's smothered steak, so I cannot recommend any of them as tasting like Highland Park's.
I will post this. Perhaps there is one of my readers who has eaten Highland Park's smothered steak and will send a recipe that, from their personal experience, tastes like the Highland Park dish.
