Thank you, Phaed! They were round and flat to fit in the toaster.
I didn't describe them well enough. My cousin said they were
similar to the "Thomas' Corn-Toast-R Cakes".

If you did, please send me the link.
In 2018, I did a search for "Awrey's Corn Toastums," which sound similar to your description and I found a couple of recipes.
