They are similar to a Mostaccioli with the chocolate and orange zest with spices but don't think they have nuts in them , and they are in the shape of a drop cookie more like a Brutti Ma Buono cookie I guess. The cookies sit on the counter on top of their fancy cookie selection , These cookies are amazing and unfortunately I no longer live in NY. Thanks, Anthony
Hello Anthony,
I could not find anything about "spice cookies" from this bakery.
Court Pastry was, and still may be, temporarily closed for renovation, but you might try calling them at (718) 875-4820 and asking them the name of the cookies. You may have to be insistent and ask for the "Italian name" of the cookies.
There are 115 photos of Court Pastry Shop and their products here: Yelp
Maybe you can identify the cookies in one of the photos? I'm going to have to have a name for the cookies before I can hope to find the recipe. I'm not enough of an expert on Italian (Sicilian) cookies to be able to identify the cookies from your description, but maybe someone can match them up with a photograph.
I'll post this. Perhaps one of my readers can help.
