Hello Eric,
I cannot find anything about a "Post Restaurant" in NYC.
However, I did find an upscale restaurant in NYC called : "The Post House," at 28 E 63rd St. Now closed.
I found several mentions of their coconut layer cake, which was described this way on their menu at: Foursquare
Coconut Cake with Coconut Sorbet
Layered coconut cake topped with fresh coconut shavings, served with coconut sorbet and
mango passion sauce
I found a review that said: Dessert was outrageous and the best dessert was the coconut cake with coconut sorbet.
I could not find a recipe or a more detailed description of the cake.
I will post this for reader input. Perhaps someone can tell us more about it.

Hello Eric,
Ok, that is the address of the old "Post House" restaurant in the Lowell Hotel. The actual name of it was "The Post House" rather than just "The Post." No luck with the recipe. I cannot find any mention of a NYC chef named "Hussein Kkanloo" or common variants of that name.
