Hello Joan,
For those who don't know Lum's restaurant, it was a chain that started in Florida and spread from there. We had one on the MS Gulf Coast. They were famous for hot dogs cooked in beer and for "Ollieburgers" and "Lumburgers."
From the Lum's menu:
Lumburger - Deliciously Different: Chopped sirloin in our own B-B-Q Sauce on an egg bun 0.45 with cheese 0.55
I found this on a Florida message board:
Mr. and Mrs. Lum cooked the Lum dogs and the Lumburgers at home and lightly steamed the buns, which were then kept in steamers at their establishments. Lumburgers were similar to sloppy joes, but made with just meat and some kind of wonderful flavoring.
There are some photos of lumburgers on this Lum's nostalgia Facebook page: Lums Official
So "lumburgers" were like a sloppy joe made with chopped sirloin and Lum's unique BBQ sauce on a steamed egg bun. I'm afraid that description is as close as we can get to a recipe, though, because the recipe for Lum's unique BBQ sauce does not appear to be available.
I'll post this for reader input.
