It's the Mincemeat and custard pie. It was a highly favoured festive pie which was sadly scrapped a few years ago. I was hoping you could recreate or try to find the recipe. Thanks! Kind regards, Stefan.
Hello Stefan,
I could not find the actual recipe or a recipe recommended by a former McDonald's employee. If my experience with fast food chains is accurate, then McDonald's made these pies at a central commissary or farmed the production out to an outside vendor. If so, then only those at the commissary or outside vendor would have any idea of the actual recipe.
There is an attempted copycat or "tastes-like" recipe here: Custard Crumble Mince Pies
These pies, called "Festive Pies", were sold at McDonald's in the UK at Christmas time. In the US, something called "Holiday Pies" were/are sold at Christmas time. These are custard pies, but they do not have the mincemeat. There is a copycat recipe for those here: McDonald's Holiday Pie
That's all I can find, Stefan. Sorry, recreating such a recipe is beyond me. I will post this for reader input.
